Waiting and Wishing

So the last post before the new years and I think I should post New Years Resolutions.

  1. I want to study hard this year, I say this every year but I really hope I do it's HSC year for the love of Merlin
  2. I promise to spend less frivolously as well as just spending less
  3. I also need to increase attention span
  4. I will stop procrastinating, well until November 2012 at least :)
I can't think of much else for now...
On a side note, this years theme is 'Time to Dream' and I'm definitely dreaming of a nice ATAR mark so I can do whatever I want.
Well as soon as I decide what I'm doing in uni and which uni.

And remember to eat a single grape for every chime of the clock leading up to the new years!

psst! I can't seem to post photos so i'll pretty up this post next time yeah? maybe tomorrow if Blogger will allow it.

Golden Dreams

This is gonna be a long post I believe. Also, due to my uncelebratory Christmas day I have no such thing as festive pictures so you'll have to make do with other peoples that I nabbed to brighten my day.
So I recently took a sabbatical from the constant frenzy of the internet and social networking. Not to say I haven't missed it, I mean dayum I missed it when I didn't know when insert name here ate a grape. The horror.

Although I wasn't unproductive. First there was the 40 hour shopping day at Parra Westfields that mother and I attended. Then there was those two highly boring days where nothing happened simply because nobody was doing anything cause they had a family which appreciated Christmas and they most likely had a Christmas tree too.

Afterwards there was the tedious act of awakening in the wee hours of the morning to take advantage of public transport and make our way to the boxing day sales. Which is the only complimentary side effect of Christmas I enjoy. Mind you, our way was hindered by trackwork those tedious bastards. Did they not understand?

It was enjoyable overall ignoring the tired feet and the overall terrible sales and the lack of a night sale from Myers. The day was of course brightened by the appearance of a We Are  Handsome pop-up store. The highlight of the day if I do say so myself. Black Milk leggings are genius but they're weak in the aspect of swimwear and bodysuits.

On a side note, I believe I've developed another obsession. This time to do with sparklers. I mean who can't love them. They're bright and sparkly and controlled yet uncontrollable and it's just damned beautiful.
On a side side note, you should complete this activity cause it involves sparklers and new years is coming up and what better time to engage in pyrotechnics? Also cause I'm idealistic and despite living in a world of science I still want to believe in wish magic and fairytales. So you gather a group of friends preferably your age and with your interests cause it's just funner that way. But either way gather a group and no need to be picky it'll only take 5 minutes at most. Give everybody a sparklers, hold them upside down and light them. The person holding the last sparkler out gets to make a wish. And it's okay, cause you don't have to keep it a secret like birthday wishes, you can tell people. Who knows, maybe they'll help you achieve your wish.

I also went to DFO the day after and it was alright... I achieved little there.

And that is all there is, there isn't anymore.

Oh Woe Is Me...

Those are my 5 year old cousins masterpieces. Yeah there are size discrepancies, the caricature of my mother is half the size of my sister and I. But then again it is difficult to draw on a whiteboard, especially for a midget.

Onto other topics. That title probably makes no sense to all you sane people out there who avoid this place like plague but it's a genius song that I stumbled upon online and I'd like to say, that it's genius.

Oh woe is me, Oh woe is me,
I used to have a hamster tree,
But a ferret ate it,
And now I have no cuddly fruit,
Oh woe is me, Oh we is me,
I used to have a hamster tree.
There are other versions online, but I like this one the most. Simply cause it has ferrets in it, and it reminds me of Harry Potter :D

So I don't know if this post is gonna say much cause I'm asian and we never celebrate Christmas especially cause most of my family's overseas for my Grandmas massive birthday and I have HSC and so my family isn't going. And so imma sit here on my bed tomorrow doing jackshit.
Or homework that I've been putting off.
Or convincing my mum to go beaching.
But generally having no life.
Waiting for boxing day sales.
And what exactly is eggnog and what's it made of?
Yes random post. Maybe I'll do another one in a few hours and be even more pointless, or it could be Harry Potter related. CHYEAH!

The Rebellion Begins

Yesterday on Tuesday the 20th of December 2011, guess who went to the Harry Potter Exhibition?

That's right geniuses, ME!

It was both a euphoric and a heart wrenching experience for me. And the little kids annoyed be so much cause I was in the midst of one of those emotional trainwrecks and I didn't know whether to smile with joy or cry in sorrow and they were watching me struggle with wtf? faces and I wanted them to go away.

There was everything, and Hermione has the prettiest wand, along with Luna, James and Sirius. And the giant chess pieces, like I'd definitely play chess with those.
And Aragog was there, remember when he died and Harry was high on Felix Felicis and did that cute pincer thing?
And Bellatrix and Sirius's wanted posters were simply awesome, and I want them on my bedroom wall. And Bellatrix's dress was really hot and her dagger was awesome.
And the sword of Gryffindor was the shiniest thing ever.
And the timeturner with it's really long chain which they don't give you if you buy it from the WBshop.
And the Marauder's map was just heart wrenching to see cause all of them are dead.
And Umbridge's blood quill was actually really pretty
And Fawkes was massive and awesome.
And I understand why Harry said "I like this one" about the golden snitch. It was another excessively shiny object.
And Buckbeak was there and I just wanted to hug him.
And the Hungarian Horntail was the coolest dragon I've seen in a while. Why can't they sell model ones like the ones in the movies?
And the baby thestral was endearing.
And they didn't have Hedwig, how upsetting was that?
And the Quidditch robes, not Harry's his just look muggle and mundane unlike in the first movie.
And Lockhart's quiz was hilarious with all the me me me questions.
And Rita Skeeter's quill was massive, like a bloody whip.
And the four poster beds with the velvet curtain and the patchwork blankets that Ron had, what I wouldn't give for someone to make me that.
And we got to play Quidditch as chasers.
And the flying Ford Anglia.
And Hermione's dress fromBill's wedding.
And Cho Chang's dress for Yule, again if I had to wear traditional clothes, I'd wear that.
And the Beauxbatons uniform was so pretty.
And the Nimbus 2000 and 2001. There was no Firebolt... WHY?!
But yes, it was a defining moment of my life. And I want to go all over again TT

Just to break the heavy emotion laden atmosphere, we went to Criniti's after. And that's the pizza you can see up there, I'm pretty sure it was like, a metre long 0.o

The fair, the chaste and unexpressive she

The Secret Room cafe

A bit of a late post cause holidays turn me into a lazy bastard.
So recently I went to the secret room cafe and I must agree it really is a hidden sanctuary. The only way you know where it is is via google maps and careful hunting or if you're so observant that you'd notice a small a4 sized sign that says 'The Secret Room, Level 1'. But inside really is nice and time flies when you're having fun. Which kinda makes it expensive seeing as we had a group of 6 and it costs $7 per person per hour. Why couldn't they just have different costs per room or something? But either way it was really fun, especially seeing as the WHOLE BLOODY FLOOR was like a GIANT BED. The drinks were.. okay, a bit of a let down actually compared to the rooms and everything.

A group of us painstakingly organised by Nick also went to watch Shakespeare's 'As You Like It' at the Belvoir st Theatre. The place is also very awesome. It has a whole old fashioned vibe to it, from the neon signs to the posters of past plays and the names of the holders of permanent seating. The play itself was really really good and to anyone who has ever seen it, THE SHEEEPPP!!!!!! I really want one of them, they were so cute. If only the sheep at hurlstone were like that then I'd still be taking ag. I think our group also added to the play with our highly uninhibited responses to the events, and you see the last image?
Lastly, according to Mitchell the florist, that amount of rose petals would've cost $300 altogether :o

Day 7: Favourite female character and why.

I admire Professor Mcgonagall, Narcissa Malfoy and Lily Potter the most I suppose. Cause to me they were strong women who fought for their beliefs and Mcgonagall was the strict but fair and underneath it all you could see that she cared for her students. Similar to the other two who fought and sacrificed for their family and for love.

In a way Bellatrix Lestrange was also admireable despite her madness. Her continuous loyalty and determination to fight for her beliefs pushed her up the scale in my eyes.

Molly Weasley, she was another formiddable woman she's overbearing but I love her cause she has such a big heart and yet she settles for being a housewife despite her strengths demonstrated through her ability to despatch Bellatrix.

Hermione Granger is also highly admirable, simply because of the amount of drive she has and ambition. She's also highly overbearing. A bit like a really ambitious Molly Weasley actually, hrrmmm.

Luna Lovegood is the ultimate favourite though she never angered me or riled me up. She was just there throughout, providing support, breaking tension and held true to her beliefs despite the ridicule she received from others.
And who knows? Maybe nargles and wrackspurts really do exist and the rest of the wizarding world is too blind, prejudiced and disdainful to see them.

Day 6: What house would you want to be in?

Yeah I going to post properly but I have a headache and cbf. So HP it is.

House. I say, that's a difficult position to put me in.

Gryffindor is too abrasive I think, and they lack cynicism and sarcasm that I appear to have in abundance. I'd also hate to be one of the main house to incite duels and violence in the corridors. They also seem to die sooner and seem to lack a sense of self preservation.

Hufflepuff is too...actually there's not much on them but to me, they seem a bit wimpy and a bit slow in the head but too quick to jump to conclusions, or is that just Ernie Macmillan? They're pretty weak as well, what doe their house ghost say about them? A fat monk, that's the way to truly represent your house. But either way yellow isn't my colour thus why I hold a love/hate relationship with Macarthur.

Ravenclaw is admirable and I'd love Flitwick as my head of house and BOOKS! And blue! But the situation with Luna Lovegood is strange, she redeems her house yet what her house has done to her makes me hate them. Cho Chang and Marietta Edgecombe also add to the bad qualities of the house, they're both weak-willed and appear to lack intuition and common sense that most of us hold fundamentally dear.

Slytherin. What can be said about the house? They have a terrible rapport with the rest of the wizarding world but they have wit, ambition, sarcasm and they have the tendency to survive. They also hold loyalty to family in high regard and are in all aspects the most suitable house for me I believe. Except for the part where they scheme too far into the future and don't care who they tread on to get to the top.

Bugger all.

Scrabble and Innuendos over Green Tea.

It's actually a functional camera in case you didn't know.
CHYEAH! Last assessment done! And now comes the hard part, waiting for results.
Do you remember back in primary when the floor was highly volatile and had the tendency to become lava at the slightest provocation? Well this strange phenomena appeared in the library today as Annie battled around bookcases, scaled more bookcases, navigated the treacherous desk and finally, finally made it full circle back to the safety zone, where the floor wasn't lava. We started it in art yesterday but the dear instructor refused to let us continue on our journey for it caused OH&S issues.
So we went to the city in celebration of the end of assessments despite damned PEARSON ruining my life. The board game cafe was interesting and of course being us the majority of the words were fag, laid, sex, p_rn and other such nonsense. But despite the innuendos they have really good 'green tea ice blended' awesome name isn't it?
Then as with every other city trip we, especially ones including Mitchell, we had to go take caps, which I will not mention any further than that TT.
Btw, I got my pink earphones WHOOO!
And Annie better bring the UO stuff tomorrow, Grrrrrr.

Day 5: Favourite Male Character and Why?

By Jove! I say, what happened here? Is this Benjamin Button?

What a difficult question. In my opinion, male characters are always easier to love than female characters, but maybe that's cause I'm female either way, there's so many.

I liked the twins the most I guess, but don't ask me which cause it's quite difficult to differentiate. But I liked them cause they were good and they could be serious when the time called for but they were so co-dependent and close knit and they were so funny yet devious and held a certain je ne sais quoi. They reminded me of the Ouran twins who are like LOVE.

I also liked Neville cause he was so unassuming and nervous and gentle yet he could also rise to the situation and take a stand when there was a need and a cause to fight for. He stood up to the carrows, rescued other students from the carrows and he beheaded Nagini for merlin's sake and he stood there and took the cruciatus curse and the hat burning on his head. Then afterwards he could recede back into his nicer, quieter persona. What's not to like?

And Flitwick was awesome. He was like this little unassuming character and then BAM he was a duelling champ. and you'd go "0.o SAY WHAT?!" and he was so little. And so excitable and simply awesome. Well that was until i noticed the odd discrepancy in the movies. Did he take a de-aging potion? But doesn't matter he's still awesome like jackalopes.

I would say Harry, but he was too self sacrificing, Remus was too self pitying. Sirius, we never got to know him but i think I would've loved him otherwise. James Potter likewise. Ron was too volatile. Snape had no reason to be such a bastard, abuse is a vicious cycle. Malfoy was too cowardly and self serving.

Dawning Horrors

Hello bumpkins and all. It doesn't matter whether you're bumptious or not, you're still a bumpkin.
Onto more important topics, IT'S THE FIRST DAY OF SUMMER!
And what sterling weather we're having, heavy clouds, threatening rain, chilly winds. Isn't it nice?
And I really really hate it when people keep rescheduling. Damnit, you made a commitment, stick with it. We were relying on you and you let us down, it's our HSC year, don't we deserve some thought before you brush us off?
How would you feel if you were stranded on a deserted island and you finally manage to call for help and then they're like "Alright we'll be there in 2 hours."
2 hours later, you're still standing, waiting for that plane, so you call them again and they're like "hey, sorry man, cause it was just you and your friend so we don't really wanna spend all that money rescuing you until you're actually desperate and dying from dehydration. Then we might properly consider. But as it is two lives aren't really that important so why don't you  maroon some other ship with you?"
That's what I feel you've done to me you hoe. Go drown in a puddle. Hopefully a muddy microsopic piranha invested puddle. Hoe.
